It may be viral already and you may have already seen it, but it was shared by a (real)friend of mine's friend's brother who is fighting overseas and written by another soilder he's fighting alongside.
I wouldn't call myself Obama's biggest supporter, but this pretty much sums up how I felt when I saw that post everyone was sharing about how this wasn't his doing (that and the fact that people are totally ignorant in regards to "an american soilder, who obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether or not to pay").

The "Lets Be Clear" post...
...to those who have decided to post the following status update: "Let's be clear on this: OBAMA did NOT kill Bin Laden. An American soldier, who Obama just a few weeks ago was debating on whether or not to PAY, did. Obama just happened to be the one in office when our soldiers finally found OBL and took him out. This is NOT an Obama victory, but an AMERICAN victory!! REPOST IF YOU AGREE!!!" 1. Please read about the mission. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0511/54093.html is a start. Our soliders did not "find" OBL. Our knowledge of his whereabouts came from the tireless work of countless military and intelligence community professionals over the course of many years and two Presidential administrations. These are career civil servants, not politicians, and they labor away in quiet obscurity at various three-letter agencies that some of you might not even know exist. 2. Is your hatred for the President so intense that it blinds you to the very obvious fact that if this mission had gone terribly wrong - as did our efforts in Somolia (i.e., Black Hawk Down) and the failed attempt by the Carter Administration to rescue hostages in Iran - NO ONE would be blaming the troops, but rather the Commander-in-Chief for his poor or reckless decision-making? To be sure, Obama would be forever linked to the the failure. It strikes me, then, that he deserves at least some of the credit for the mission's success. That in no way diminishes the bravery of the troops who carried out their dangerous mission with valor. But it was the Commander-in-Chief who chose the time to act - with advice from career military and intelligence community officials (NOT politicians). 3. Let's be clear: OBL did not kill anyone in the WTC or at the Pentagon. He just ordered the mission, right? So he shouldn't be responsible, right? Yeah, I didn't think so... 4. The bottom line - the President made a very gutsy and courageous decision, the timing of which had NOTHING to do with politics and everything to do with fufilling a high priority national security mission that was established nearly a decade ago. The pieces of intelligence finally fell into place, and the President made the decision to act. As much as you may hate it for whatever your reasons, President Obama deserves credit for presiding over this very successful mission.
By: Christopher GroesslerAshleehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08873036398890532132noreply@blogger.com
