I typed a very long post about George's latest accomplishment, and it disappeared. You can't fathom my frustration! Writing and photographing is supposed to be for fun, not a chore, so I'm not going to retype it all. In summation, I've never been more proud of George, and he's never been more deserving of a relaxing weekend. He's been short on sleep and needed to catch up. I gladly allowed myself to be a lazy dog with him all weekend. Previous plans to see a hot air balloon festival (which I'm sure would have been romantic and fabulous) quickly dissipated into thin air. The OU game, MarioKart, my apartment hot tub, a new SNL episode, loving on our precious pups, and Wonder Years binging took place instead...and I couldn't be happier about it. Daylight Savings Time, you couldn't have come at a more perfect time!
Inspiration for George's latest venture...Bill Graham.
Bring it on.
Love this action pic of my sweetheart. Even with a photo-delay, I am pretty sure I still kicked his tail in kart!
Sooner Victory. Teddy. PERFECT SATURDAY.
Georgie was in and out of naps. Teddy was content by his side all day. He loves George so much, and it makes my heart melt!
Sweats and TOMS make for a comfy outfit that is still appropriate to go out in. Thank goodness. Despite looking like a disco ball (according to George), I still rock this outfit on the regular.
Sangria and Italian for lunch on this Daylight Savings Day holiday. I am SO grateful for this weekend!
I love college football. I really love OU Football. Thus, for the Super Bowl, I didn't really care who won or lost. However, I did enjoy documenting ALL of the commercials, and picking favorites with George and his friends, Frankie, Toad-Boy, Jacob, and Fred, and of course the beloved pets, Roscoe, Duncan, and Earl. Geez, reading these names on this computer screen makes me feel like I'm writing a children's book. My boyfriend and friends have such peculiar names, but I love the individuality!!!
So, the TOP 3 MOST PLAYED commercials (other than Fox TV shows, duh....):
Budweiser/Bud Light with 4
Chevrolet with 4
AT&T with 4
The next tier:
Doritos with 3
Pepsi with 3
Hyundai with 3
The last:
Bridgetown Tires with 2
GoDaddy.com (which repulsed me, by the way) with 2
Pepsi-Max (TIMES TWO!) with both the white chick-cheerleader getting knocked out with the black girl's pepsi can AND the cans in the crotch of the guys outside.
Only one. The TV Show, "House," had a super-lame commercial that said, "This is OUR House!" hahahaha. We only disliked this one!
I also thought the Star Spangled Banner was hilarious because about 3 minutes AFTER Christina Aguilera sang, I said, "I don't know if it's just me, but I thought she messed up? Like it's supposed to be 'oer the ramparts' not 'while the ramparts'?" and everybody chimed in, "Oh my gosh! Me too!" and it was like nobody had the kahunas to accuse somebody of botching the lyrics because...that just couldn't possibly be correct. But it was! Hahaha.
I couldn't help but cheer on my favorite voice on Glee, and loved Michelle Lea's rendition of "America, The Beautiful!" Despite the fact I was surrounded by boys who didn't watch the show...
The Black-Eyed-Peas....hmmm. Well, I loved when Usher came out. He is such an awesome performer. But being in a room full of musicians and tough music critics, they were NOT impressed with the fact that not one of them actually played an instrument, other than SLASH. I know they couldn't help the problems with sound, but that was slightly distracting, too. I just don't think Fergie as that impressive of a voice live. She sounds much better on recordings, but I guess most people do. All in all, I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't exactly offended, either. I saw one hilarious Facebook post after the performance that said, "I still haven't figured out what the other two Black Eyed Peas dudes do....but suck." and that made me laugh. It was funny because on Facebook, my entire screen was full of statuses hatin' on Fergie-Ferg and the BEP. I wonder who they will get next year....I did read an interesting article that said the BLACK KEYS' album is ranked #20 while the BLACK EYED PEAS' album is ranked #26, so maybe there is hope that a lesser-known but MUCH more impressive band can stand a chance?! Oh my gosh, I would LOVE it if the Black Keys performed at a Super Bowl. They can throw down some BEATS! They were my favorite performance at ACL this past year.
The game? It was fun! I guess the Cowboys really hate the Steelers, so we were Cheesehead Packers for the day.
Go Packers! I guess???
I really liked making nachos for everybody. Frankie made fajitas, so I came prepared with nachos. I filled in George and Jacob, and now anybody else reading can know, but I made them with organic avocados, jalapenos, salsa, and SOY cheese. I don't think anybody could taste a difference. I felt like being a little sneaky and seeing if it's just in people's MINDS that soy food is "weird" or "gross"! Ha! Hope you boys enjoyed the vegan nachos!!!!!! Based on the empty plates, I think they did.
George and Frankie's kitchen. All clean, ready to cook and host a Superbowl fiesta!
It was a great Sunday. George asked, "What are we going to do now with no football??" and I quickly reminded him....basketball season. I've gotten used to sharing him with all of his professional sports games. I usually do my own thing on game days, but I wanted to join him on the Super Bowl, because it is an American holiday, after all!
