The not-so-favorites!
Only one. The TV Show, "House," had a super-lame commercial that said, "This is OUR House!" hahahaha. We only disliked this one!
I also thought the Star Spangled Banner was hilarious because about 3 minutes AFTER Christina Aguilera sang, I said, "I don't know if it's just me, but I thought she messed up? Like it's supposed to be 'oer the ramparts' not 'while the ramparts'?" and everybody chimed in, "Oh my gosh! Me too!" and it was like nobody had the kahunas to accuse somebody of botching the lyrics because...that just couldn't possibly be correct. But it was! Hahaha.
I couldn't help but cheer on my favorite voice on Glee, and loved Michelle Lea's rendition of "America, The Beautiful!" Despite the fact I was surrounded by boys who didn't watch the show...
The Black-Eyed-Peas....hmmm. Well, I loved when Usher came out. He is such an awesome performer. But being in a room full of musicians and tough music critics, they were NOT impressed with the fact that not one of them actually played an instrument, other than SLASH. I know they couldn't help the problems with sound, but that was slightly distracting, too. I just don't think Fergie as that impressive of a voice live. She sounds much better on recordings, but I guess most people do. All in all, I wasn't overly impressed, but I wasn't exactly offended, either. I saw one hilarious Facebook post after the performance that said, "I still haven't figured out what the other two Black Eyed Peas dudes do....but suck." and that made me laugh. It was funny because on Facebook, my entire screen was full of statuses hatin' on Fergie-Ferg and the BEP. I wonder who they will get next year....I did read an interesting article that said the BLACK KEYS' album is ranked #20 while the BLACK EYED PEAS' album is ranked #26, so maybe there is hope that a lesser-known but MUCH more impressive band can stand a chance?! Oh my gosh, I would LOVE it if the Black Keys performed at a Super Bowl. They can throw down some BEATS! They were my favorite performance at ACL this past year.
The game? It was fun! I guess the Cowboys really hate the Steelers, so we were Cheesehead Packers for the day.
Go Packers! I guess??? |
I really liked making nachos for everybody. Frankie made fajitas, so I came prepared with nachos. I filled in George and Jacob, and now anybody else reading can know, but I made them with organic avocados, jalapenos, salsa, and SOY cheese. I don't think anybody could taste a difference. I felt like being a little sneaky and seeing if it's just in people's MINDS that soy food is "weird" or "gross"! Ha! Hope you boys enjoyed the vegan nachos!!!!!! Based on the empty plates, I think they did.
George and Frankie's kitchen. All clean, ready to cook and host a Superbowl fiesta! |
It was a great Sunday. George asked, "What are we going to do now with no football??" and I quickly reminded him....basketball season. I've gotten used to sharing him with all of his professional sports games. I usually do my own thing on game days, but I wanted to join him on the Super Bowl, because it is an American holiday, after all!
Blurrified Jacob and Roscoe! |
